From the City of Marseille to the Calanques fjords, the Côte Bleue coast to the Venice of Provence and Aix-en-Provence to the land of Cézanne… A colourful discovery tour of Provence and its gastronomy.

This short break can be adapted to take into account certain disabilities.

Day 1

Your City – Marseille

Arrival at hotel (Marseille or vicinity), dinner and night.

Day 2

Cassis – Marseille

Discovery tour of Cassis, a picturesque little fishing port tucked between two exceptional natural sites: the “Calanques” fjords and majestic Cape Canaille. Boat tour of the stunning “Calanques” fjords, offering a magnificent decor of blue skies, emerald waters and steep cliffs.

Bouillabaisse lunch.

Guided tour of Marseille, founded by the Ancient Greeks, including the Old Port (Vieux Port), La Canebière main thoroughfare, Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica and Corniche coast road.

Late afternoon tasting of the city’s famous “navette” biscuits.

Dinner and night at hotel.

Day 3

Aix-en-Provence

Departure for Aix-en-ProvenceGuided tour of the Musée du Calisson (“calisson” candy museum) and visit to a local confectioner where you can see these delicious little delicacies coming to life. “Calisson” candies are made with Provence almonds, Cavaillon melon and Apt orange zest… Tasting session. The day continues at Le Puy Saint Réparade with a guided tour of Château La Coste winery and wine tasting.

Lunch at a restaurant. Guided tour of Aix-en-Provence, town of Art & Fountains, including Cours Mirabeau, the Mazarin quarter, old town and its fountains, cathedral and cloister.

Dinner and night at hotel.

Day 4

Côte Bleue – Martigues

Discovery tour of the Côte Bleue coast and fish market.

Guide tour of Martigues, nicknamed theVenice of Provence, including the fishermen’s quarter and Place Maritima, Le Miroir aux Oiseaux (a listed site) home to many artists, Eglise de la Madeleine and Maison au Chapeau de Gendarme.Local fish speciality tasting: “Poutargue” and “Melets”.

Dinner and night at hotel.

Departure

Breakfast and departure.
